Made-to-Measure & Custom Bedding

BEDLAM makes bed linen to order. If your bed is not a standard size, or your mattress is deeper than the sheets you can buy, we will make the piece to your measurements in any fabric we weave.

We can do this because we are not distributors. Every product is made in our own factories, held to the highest standards of social and environmental compliance, and our in-house design studio lets us take on bespoke work.

What we make to order

• Fitted sheets — any length, any width, any mattress depth
• Flat sheets — including extra-wide and extra-long for generous hotel-style tucking
• Duvet covers — any size, including single, which we do not stock as standard
• Pillowcases and shams — including European square and bolster sizes
• Quilts and bedspreads

Beyond size, we can change edge treatments, piping, borders and detailing, and add monogramming to any piece.

Mattress depth is not a limitation. Deep mattresses, toppers, and mattress-plus-topper combinations are all fine — tell us the total depth and we will cut the skirt to fit.

What we do not make to order

Towels, bathrobes and bath linen are made in fixed sizes only. Everything else in bed linen can be made to measure.

Fabrics available

• 400 thread count percale — matt, crisp and cool. The hotel finish.
• 500 thread count sateen — smoother, with a soft sheen.
• 1000 thread count sateen — the most substantial of the cottons.
• Pure European flax linen — stone-washed, breathable, softens for years.
• Linen cotton blend — linen's texture, cotton's immediate softness.

All of our standard colours are available in custom sizes.

How to measure

For a fitted sheet

Measure your mattress length, width and depth in inches. Measure the mattress itself, not an existing sheet, which may have shrunk or stretched. If you use a topper, measure the mattress and topper together and give us that total depth.

For a flat sheet

Give us the mattress length, width and depth, and tell us how much tuck you want. As a guide, a hotel-style bed needs roughly 15 to 18 inches of overhang on each side and at the foot.

For a duvet cover

Measure the duvet or quilt you already own, laid flat, corner to corner. Do not go by the size printed on its label — Indian quilt sizes are not standardised and the printed size is often approximate.

For pillowcases

Measure the pillow flat, edge to edge, and tell us whether you want a housewife, Oxford or piped finish.

Lead time

Made-to-measure orders are dispatched within 5 business days — the same as our standard orders. Custom sizing does not add to the wait.

Pricing

Custom pieces are quoted individually, because the price depends on size and fabric. The minimum order value for made-to-measure work is ₹5,000.

As a reference point, our standard sets start at around ₹4,200 for 400 TC percale and ₹9,000 for pure linen, so a custom quote will generally sit in a similar range for a similar amount of fabric.

It helps if your first message includes the piece you want, the fabric, the colour, and your measurements in inches. We will confirm the specification and price before anything is cut.

Frequently asked questions

Do you make custom size bed sheets in India?

Yes. We make fitted sheets, flat sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and quilts to any measurement, in any fabric we weave, from our own factories in India.

What is the maximum mattress depth you can fit?

There is no maximum. Tell us the total depth, including any topper, and the fitted sheet will be cut to it.

How long does a custom order take?

Five business days to dispatch, the same as a standard order, plus delivery time.

What does made-to-measure bedding cost?

Each piece is quoted individually based on size and fabric. The minimum order value is ₹5,000.

Can I get a single duvet cover?

Not as a stock item, but yes as a special order. Single duvet covers are one of the more common custom requests we receive.

Can custom pieces be monogrammed?

Yes. Monogramming can be added to any made-to-measure piece, in the same lettering styles and thread colours as our monogrammed range.

Can I order custom towels or bathrobes?

No. Towels, bathrobes and bath linen are made in fixed sizes only. Made-to-measure applies to bed linen.

Are custom orders returnable?

Because each piece is cut to your measurements, custom orders are non-returnable unless there is a manufacturing defect, in which case we will replace it.
